[B holds up his hands, currently sitting on the floor with the kittens tumbling about around his knees. The puppies are currently napping in one corner, piled up against Libby's side: two black and white, one red, and one blue. Libby looks up at the door opening and wags her tail in doggie greeting for the familiar person.]
Look, we've got a perfectly good theme going. It would be a shame to ruin it when a conveniently alphabetical new pet shows up.
[The kittens get a quick look, and maybe a pet or two if any tumble over to her. She has nothing against cats - though the puppies are clearly where her real attentions lie. She wanders over to them, bending to get a better look.]
How many are claimed? Bulls are an active breed; seems like a shame for them to have to grow up cooped up in here.
Right now? None. I ain't asked around at all, because they're still babies, we're bottle feeding 'em and Libby is playing mommy to keep them warm.
[The human voices makes the little puppies stir, though not wake entirely yet.]
Yelena might take one, I don't know. They came from her, after all. But since she just took in one of Laura's, I'm not pressing her about it yet either.
[As evidenced by the fact that they're both speaking out loud and nothing's happening.]
If they were going to, they would've been gone this morning, or last night. Temporary flood things don't last after the flood's over.
[B is of two minds about that. If things were simply created, they should be allowed to live. But if they were taken from somewhere else, they should've been allowed to go back home. There might be a mother dog out there somewhere very much missing her pups right now.]
Yes. They've either been created out of whole magic somehow, or they got puppy- and kitten-napped from wherever they came from. But they're real. They eat, and shed, and poop, and slobber.
[He winces as one of the kittens pounces his knee with sharp little claws that pierce right through his jeans.]

Re: audio
[He sounds amused but a little tired.]
We've got a handful of puppies, yeah. And a collection of kittens and a whole bucket load of snakes and frogs...

Can I come see?
Re: audio
[A feminized version of F. Obviously.]
And a bunch of other stuff, though nothing else alive, thank god.
But yeah, come on down. The kennel's still open for visiting for another two hours, anyway.

Effie, as a nickname for F?
[Look, bud, she knows you.]

[Shaw says cautiously, getting fully down on the ground now, kneeling and leaning forward while trying not to loom.]
They might disappear. Flood stuff does sometimes.

So-- you think they're real real? You're reasonably sure?

And make you bleed, too.

Fierce little guy. Or girl.
