[And he does, showing up at Godric's door and rapping lightly with metal knuckles, and offering a smile and, if Godric seems up to it, a little hug when the door opens.]
You doing okay?
[He didn't see him all port, which probably means he'd been overboard. That's not often easy.]
B has to point out, "Doing better means you were doing worse..." And he drapes his arm over Godric's shoulders again for one more little hug, figuring it can't hurt. "And ask away. I'm hoping it's the new arrival I actually, uh, know something about." Godric is temp-paired with Yelena, isn't he? With the whole port thing, he'd practically forgotten about it.
"Why wouldn't she ever speak to you again?" B asks. "Did you guys not hit it off very well first time you spoke?" Since presumably they spoke at least once, if he's saying "again".
"The first time, I gave her a tour of the Barge. It was fine. The second, I was her temp warden and - no. It didn't go well." He laughs. "But that's partly on me."
"Maybe you oughta tell me what you said that upset her?" B suggests. "I mean... I don't even know as much about her history as I'd like, myself, and I don't know how much of that she'd be comfortable with me sharing."
"I asked if she needed anything. I mentioned you and Steve and that's when I think it all went sour," he tells him. "The very understandable and typical inmate approach - I can't be trusted because I am a warden. I ended it before it could get worse."
B sighs a bit. "Yeah, okay. I doubt she really wants to be reminded of me, either. She knows me as the Winter Soldier. The Asset. Not as, y'know, me. There wasn't a me when we met." He looks rueful, a little sad. "I think she might hate me a little." And he clearly doesn't blame her.
"What? No. You didn't. Not for me, anyway. For you and Yelena getting along, maybe," he says, about half-teasing. "Nothing you can say or do is going to change her opinion about me. Only time will do that, I hope."
"We haven't spoken much yet," he answers with a smile. "So I'm not certain how it will go. I'll admit, I am growing rather discouraged about this whole business."

[He is not best pleased about what happened at port, but he's coming to terms with it.
He closes the door behind him, stepping into the hallway.]
I had a question about one of our new arrivals, actually.

"It is the new arrival you know about, yes. I don't think that she will ever speak to me again, but if she does - "
