Well, I'd started prep for it before you conked out, and I didn't want to waste the effort.

It was kinda fun, though, using actual decorations and hanging 'em up and all. I'll probably be doing that again.

It ain't about what "most people" prefer. It's about what me and Steve like, since I'm the one setting it up and he's the one the party's for.

I made a banner and streamers to hang up and made a bunch of origami to set on the tables. It was pretty neat. Steve tried to keep all the origami.

[And he disconnects for about five minutes while he gets out the stuff he kept from the party, lays it out on the spare bedroom's bed, and takes a picture to show her. There's the banner with "Happy Birthday Steve" on it that he clearly hand-painted (it is not very good, B is not an artist), a couple remaining cut-paper streamers (a little better, they're in fun shapes, he is clearly better with sharp objects than he is with paint), and three over-sized origami animals. One has been chewed on by a cat, the holes are clearly visible. He sends that.]

Also don't worry about a present. You should give him a hug, instead.
