The Last Voyages: Permissions

OOC PREFERENCES:
CONTACT METHOD: cacopheny @ plurk
THREAD-JACKING: This is okay
FOURTH WALLING / CANON PUNCTURE: I'd prefer he not be recognized as his actor, but being seen as fictional (comics/movies) is fine since this is in fact in his canon. Being informed of future events is probably gonna happen, I am already game for this :)
BACKTAGGING: Yes!
AVOIDED TOPICS: I am personally squicked by magical mind control, so I can't write it out, but it doesn't bother me if other people are writing it in a plot I'm a part of. Possession and Bucky's kind of conditioning are okay.
PREFERRED GENDER PRONOUN: She/her

IC CHARACTERISTICS:
CURRENT CANON POINT: From when the helicarrier falls apart in the climax of Captain America: The Winter Soldier. Before he even fishes Steve out of the river. The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, episode 6, before delivering his "completed" amends to his therapist.
PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: Broad and generally tense, walks with a heavier tread on the left because he's got a metal arm on that side, giving him a very distinctive gait. Short brown hair and very pale eyes, with a tendency towards the "thousand yard stare" that takes in things without looking at them specifically, and has learned the trick of looking people in the face without making intense eye contact. Speaks surprisingly quietly for a big guy. Smells of metal, electricity, leather, and anxiety. Generally wears multiple layers of long-sleeved shirts and jackets, and he's never without heavy boots or his watch. Starting in January of 2025, he's started wearing a silvery ring on his left hand perhaps 75% of the time.
DEMEANOR: Taciturn, not great with expression, and one might err on the side of "sullen" when describing him. Can be snarky but is clearly interested in the people around him, and when he smiles it's warm. Not great with trust right off the bat, but at least he's got some decent social skills this time around.
ABILITIES: Fighting, sneaking around, long-range weapons (guns, thrown knives), mending clothing, minor electronics repair, mother-henning, yelling at one Steven Grant Rogers. Worked a variety of jobs in 1930s Brooklyn, so he's familiar with a handful of more ordinary skills like furniture repair and construction. He is a great dancer.
MEDICAL INFORMATION: Possesses enhanced metabolism which helps him heal faster than normal, perhaps in 1/4 the time of an unenhanced person, and bear the weight and anchoring of the metal arm. It also makes him need to eat a lot. He has vibranium implants for his metal arm all through his left shoulder, which doesn't harm him the way his old arm did, but which does have pressure points for an external arm reliease. Most importantly, perhaps, he still has a pretty violent medical phobia, so he won't be spending much time in medical.
CABIN INFORMATION: Cabin 15 on level 3. The door looks like a bunker door, heavy metal sliding into the wall to the left when the correct code is punched into the clunky 70s-era shielded keypad next to it. Inside is pretty cozy, despite the metal furniture and concrete walls and floors, and the flourescent light in the ceiling is augmented by a couple fancy lamps in corners that warm up the light. Each wall has one piece of art on it: three landscapes and one colorful rendering of the Brooklyn Bridge. The mattress is on the floor, between a Persian rug on one side and a fluffy sheepskin rug on the other, and piled high with colorful quilts and thick blankets. The bed frame is pushed against the wall and repurposed into a makeshift couch, padded with more blankets, and there's a cushy armchair on the left wall with more blankets on it. (There are, really, blankets everywhere.) The small desk is almost entirely covered in a chess set, pieces askew, and the bookshelf is scattered with brightly colored childrens books, sci fi pulp novels, instruction books on piano and origami, and CD cases. There's a blue-and-chrome bathroom with a spacious tub to the left, and a small kitchen in more blue-and-chrome to the right, with a counter separating it from the main living space that serves as the table for eating at. The kitchen counter has a coffee press, an electric kettle, and two mugs, reading: "seven days without a pun makes one weak" and "holy" plastered on the silhouette of a cow.
OFFENSIVE SUBJECTS: Mind control and manipulation. Don't talk about how you used to brainwash people in front of him unless you want to trigger a panic attack or a punch to the face. (Or do, just beware that's what will happen.)

IC PERMISSIONS:
MENTAL: Clairvoyance, telepathy, empathy, and dream manipulation/intrusion are fine. Mind control is not, please, unless we're going with a planned plot using his specific trigger phrases.
MIMICRY: Go for it!
VIOLENCE: Yes.
MAGIC: Please ask OOC and we can discuss it :)
DEBATE: If you can get him to talk long enough for one.
OTHER / NOTES: Former CR with previous versions of Bucky Barnes are welcome to recognize him and approach him!
